Bledsoe Telephone Cooperative is pleased to be partnered with NTCA-The Rural Broadband Association, which annually offers Foundation for Rural Services Scholarships for eligible seniors. In keeping with its mission, furthering the education of rural youth is one of the foundations primary focuses. BTC is a member of NTCA and proudly supports this investment in the leaders of tomorrow. If a student from the BTC service area receives one of the $2000 FRS scholarships, BTC will contribute an additional $500 to that person.

FRS also has four $5,000 Staurulakis Family Scholarships, with a preference for students majoring in science, math, engineering and medicine.

Applications for the FRS scholarships can be downloaded from frs.org.

NOTE: Each application must have the signature of BTC’s General Manager to qualify. Applications must be postmarked to FRS by March 1st of each year and winners will be announced by May 1st of that year.

The Foundation for Rural Service is proud to offer additional scholarships funded by Manny and Leo Staurulakis, of JSI, in honor of their parents John and Chresanthe Staurulakis. The FRS Starulakis Family Scholarships will provide four $5,000 awards and will give preference to students with an interest in science, math, medicine, or engineering. Students with a focus in the sciences will be automatically considered for these new Staurulakis Family Scholarships.
